The Fine Print
- This offer is valid for the intended recipient only and is not transferable. Bonus will not be paid if promotion code is retrieved by unintended recipient or if promotion code is retrieved from a deals website.
- To be eligible, you must complete new money deposit(s) from an external source into your existing U.S. Bank Smartly® Savings account identified on this offer from February 17 through and including March 13, 2026. New money is considered funds that come from outside U.S. Bank and are not transferred from another U.S. Bank product, regardless of ownership of the other U.S. Bank products. Transfers between U.S. Bank accounts will not qualify.
- To receive the bonus, you must make new money deposit(s) totaling $25,000 or more. You must then maintain a minimum account balance equal to or greater than the end of day account balance on March 13, 2026, including your new money deposits of $25,000 or more in the account identified on this offer, until the end of day on June 11, 2026.
- To determine the end of day account balance: Log into Online or Mobile Banking to view the account ending balance as of 3/13/2026 or, speak to a banker to obtain the account ending balance as of 3/13/2026.
- Fees will reduce your eligible account balance, and deposits may be needed to cover these fees to maintain the minimum account daily balance for this offer.
- Your $300 savings bonus (“adjusted interest”) will be credited to your Bank Smartly Savings account within 30 days after June 11, 2026. Your account must remain open and have a positive balance to receive the bonus.
- Interest rates are determined at the bank’s discretion and can change at any time. Interest will be compounded daily and credited to your account monthly. We use the daily balance method to calculate interest on all deposit accounts. This method applies a daily periodic rate to the principal in the account each day. Interest on your check deposit begins to accrue on the business day we receive credit for this account. If you close your account before interest is credited, you will not receive the accrued interest. Fees could reduce earnings on the account. Other restrictions may apply.
- U.S Bank Smartly® Savings: Interest rates and APYs for the U.S. Bank Smartly Savings account, including the interest rate bump, are variable, determined at the bank’s discretion, and can change at any time, including after the account is opened.
- Bonus will be reported as interest earned on IRS form 1099-INT, and recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes.
Our Verdict
I have the Smartly savings account and just got this email a few moments ago. Not sure how widely it was sent out. Nice little bonus if you have the cash to spare.
Related note: in the past, readers have flagged that the Smartly Savings account interest rate varies by account – always be sure to check what your own APY rate is showing in your own account. Mine is currently 2.75% APY (2.71% variable).
Still a good deal since it gets you 4-5% extra, on top of the regular interest rate on the account, for locking up the funds for 90 days.
I have some spare cash and will probably do this deal. Unlucky for me, I already have $12k funds in the savings account (which are in the process of getting transferred out). The terms sound to me like it should still be fine, but out of caution I’ll leave $37k there for 3 months.
